They'll move mom to the step-down unit on the third floor tomorrow. They are hoping get her into the LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) hospital by mid week. We went and toured the facility and feel confident about it. It is called Promise Hospital and is located in Salt Lake at 1050 E South Temple, 3rd Floor.
P.S. They did get her initiating her own breaths and doing some of the work. Her temperature was consistently good throughout the day. She is trying hard to move her mouth, but the movements so far have been very small.
I am so grateful for you girls rallying around your mom! She couldn't ask for a more wonderful, positive, encouraging cheer-leading squad to help her through this!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I open up this blog and see her picture on the top left I think, 'I can't wait to see that gorgeous, on-in-a-billion smile again!'
I haven't checked for a few days so am glad to see the progression she has made. She is strong person! I agree with Nanette! She is lucky to have you guys rally around her. Keep strong and keep the faith! Thanks for updating this so we can know what's going on.
ReplyDeleteI've had Laura on my mind so much today--especially due to the Fast for her wellbeing. That, in turn, will brighten all of our lives.
ReplyDeleteLaura, I love you just like a sister.
Hang tough and we'll make it out for those 2-for-1 coupons you've got stashed away. And we're going to start on our writing again. This will give you a lot to tell folks about.
Love you,
Irene G
That feels like such huge progress to me: temperature steady, initiating breaths and moving her mouth? Wahoo!! Way to go Laura!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like she will be right in my neighborhood. I would love to visit if you feel that's appropriate. AND I hope you girls know I am here to babysit. And I have built in car seats in my van...OR whatever you need...Call me!!
I love you all so very much.
